Does anyone know of a safe way to clean the sand in a childs sandbox? We have a very large sandbox that I would like to treat to kill any bugs or bacteria before adding any new sand, without having to remove it if possible. I haven't been able to find anything.

Smart thing is to remove completely, dispose of it, sanitize, replace with fresh and install an animal-proof cover as cats and many other animals often poop in un-protected sand-boxes.
