Gooday!
We bought our home in July 2006 and it did not have tech shield installed. Austin Energy recommended a spray-on treatment using reflective paint. We had this applied to the underside of our roof, between the rafters.
I am wondering the pros and cons of nailing tech shield to the underside of the rafters. The silver paint is on the wood of the roof, then there would be the gap of 6" (width of rafters) and then the tech shield.
I am thinking air flow will still happen between the rafters and the additional shielding would help reduce heat in the attic. Is this a good idea?
Thanks,
Tony
