Hello. Thank you in advance for any info. I am in the process of installing unfaced fiberglass insulation over minimal existing insulation in the attic of my 1950's house. Ive encountered a section of the attic that contains loose bright white small pellets of diff sizes. They are extremely light weight and crumple into a powder when crushed. Any idea what type of insulation this is? Possible vermiculite/asbestos concern or does vermiculite have diff properties (ie-does not crush into white powder) Thank you very much for any input.
