i had to install a new garage door... now my opener will not open the new far enough to get car inside garage. the model # of opener is 139.664953. how do i adjust t so it will raise door up far enough?

My opener is an older model, 139.53606, but it may be similar inside. There are two shafts protruding from the side of the case marked "increase travel limit adjustment. These are attached to switches inside the unit which limit the up and down travel. Try turning the UP shaft the direction shown by the arrow an see if it opens further. It may require several turns of the shaft.
