Bvwindows
My home contains awning windows which we rarely open since we live in Florida. Due to this fact, we cannot open them because they are stuck. These windows are the type where you have to turn the crank. The crank turns only so much and the windows only open a crack. How can we "un-stick" them? We want to try to avoid the costly expense of replacing them since we will only be in this home a few more years. Any suggestions?

I suggest you start by lubricating every part and connection that moves - the crank arms, both ends of the brackets, the hinges, etc. First use WD-40 or penetrating oil to loosen them up, then later use a heavy lubricating oil to last awhile.
