Farmhouse Victorian from 1850's here. Decided to strip and restore my big pocket doors rather than hanging them.
Each door has two wheels on the bottom. Each wheel has a concave groove in it, so it ran on a 1/4" metal raised track. I'd guess the track was recessed in the floor just a bit, so you didnt trip on the track and you wouldn't see the wheel riding on it if you were looking at the bottom of the door.
These four cast iron 'casters' that are inside the door, never to be seen, were cast with hearts in them, casing and wheel! Amazing the craftsmenship of old.
Anyway, the metal track was removed over the years and I'm looking to replace it
