just wondering if anyone knows if you can paint alumimum clad windows. I am replacing a window in my attic and found a really nice window at a clearance outlet, but the exterior finish is the wrong color. Thanx

Looked into painting cladding a bit and looks like it should be the same as painting aluminum siding - latex acrylic - not sure about primer, though. Also took another look at the window today and its actually a vertical single hung window. My application would require it to lay on its side - like a glider. Anyone know if this would be a problem? ie - wear and tear on the sliding hardware or sealing problems. Any input would be valued. PS - The only reason I'm considering this window is because it is a very high quality window (aluminum clad wood - 52"x32") for only a fraction of the list price ($900) - $275
