Bvwindows
I am trying to track down anyone who has window leaks in ther newer home. (five years or less) I think I have discovered that faluty construction may be the cause of several leaks that my builder and I have been trying to stop for a long time. Some sills are now beginning to rot in my five year old home, in spite of vlaliant efforts on his part. Any and all help would be appreciated.

Greetings,

For 5 Years!

I would have a representative from the company that makes the windows come out and see if the windows are installed properly or see if there is a defect in the windows.

I had a customer call me back once after I sided new house that had a leak around the windows. We used a hose and wet down all around the siding and nothing happened, then we aimed the hose around the edge of the windows and in came the water.

It seems that on both sides of the window sashes they forgot to plug some holes at the sill.

either way, I would have the windows replaced.

Good luck,
Jason

It may be that the glass is not sealed to the wood frames. I went crazy for several years trying to stop a leak around a window, when the problem was the glass itself.
