The wooden kitchen door jamb hole where the strike plate mounts has gotten really dug out and messed up, I used some long screws to remount the strike plate and it is working OK 4 now, but is there any way to refill/rebuild this area once it has been dug out too much>? THX

Minwax makes a product called Wood Filler that is a two part bondo/epoxy type filler. Take the striker off, mix up some filler, and use a putty knife to fill the bad spots. As it sets up over the next ten minutes, you can work it easily with a knife to shape it. After an hour, it is hard as or harder than the original wood. Then you can sand and paint it or drill it.
