Installed Trex decking in 2006, but by 2007 I started to have dark spots show on some planks while others appeared okay. By 2009 the deck was ugly. Spoke to Trex spokesperson at a Home Show, but he insists I'm not cleaning it with the proper cleaner. Regardless of the cleaner I use, it wasn't right and then he excused himself as quickly as he could. I hate to replace the deck so am open to suggestions on a paint to use to cover the Trex. Had I known about what it would deteriorate to so quickly, would have installed wood.

you can stain it and it will look good. I contracted with Sherwin Williaand they had supplied stain to stain trex decking that faded out in the sun...looked
great after it was stained.
