Our local supplier carries these two brands. We are getting vinyl. The Milgard will be about $500 more in price. But I have never heard of Alpine and I have heard Milgard is good. Any thoughts???
By the way, that is only a total of $500 more for new construction, all the windows house

- Alpine windows vs. Milgard
we replaced most of our old aluminum frame windows with Alpine solid vinyl windows and sliding glass doors almost 10 years ago. In the Puget Sound area they've held up fine - no problems, still look good and operate smoothly, no breaks in the double pane seals.
A good friend who is a contractor in the Midwest says that, due to the extremes of hot/cold there they never install solid vinyl windows or sliders. I guess with our milder climate and less variability from summer to winter it's not a problem here.
