I have a couple of acres covered in ivy. I need a plan of attack. My last attempt to remove still has me itching. I have tried several different sprays. Is there something to spray to kill the poison ivy so I can get to the English ivy to pull up and rid once and for all.

I have the same problem. I know roundup will kill poison ivy faster than English ivy. But you have to remember poison ivy is still poisonous when dead. At least it won't get worse.

The base of one of my english Ivy plants was about 4 inches in diameter. I had to use a axe to remove sections of it. It is a nightmare. It is a shame you can't burn it (the poison ivy smoke will kill you)

Military Rule of Protection for Ivy is also effective protection against nuclear attack - Distance is the best protection against poision ivy.

Treatment -

Rub the affected skin with the leaves of a wild weed growing in most every lawn very similiar in appearance to the milkweed plant but with a solid head rather than a yellow bloom. The name I can nor remember. Expect instant results or none at all.

Methods of Ivy Plant Control -

A. Large 1" and above ivy plants that climb trees should be severed with one quick lick of the axe. Verify complete severance at one place. Immediately leave and do not return for several weeks. Verify the entire plant is completely dead and not simply asleep before returning.

B. Small Ivy plants hate soil cultivation. With a long handle shovel or garden hoe, disturb the root system including scratching or digging into the soil nearby. Ivy is the only plant I know that hates soil cultivation. Make sure not to cover or lay soil on top of the long feeder branches that run along the top of the ground. Make sure to sever the master plant's root system from the ground. Make sure to stay back full length of the shovel handle. Do not linger in the area. Hit and run. www.groups.yahoo.com/group/cornstoves Hope this helps.

What is the name and source for the Black paint with high solar heat conductivity from sunlight and high emissivity to prevent radiant heat loss on a clear cloudless night? The paint is the ideal cover for metal water tanks used for solar hot water collectors.

If you breath the smoke, you have an extreme reaction within your throat and lungs much worse that you could ever have on your skin. Kind of like being stung by a bee if allergic.
