Hi all, we have a new construction home and our toddler sleeps in the bedroom above the garage. It is the coldest room in the house!

Her room is carpeted and the garage below does have sheetrock in the walls and ceiling (I am assuming it is insulated).
The air vent is in the ceiling, so it doens't push the warm air very low.

Plus, the thermostat is on the other side of the 2nd floor by the stairs, so the heat from downstairs is naturally flowing up to our 2nd floor thermostat (keeping it warmer in that area).

Does anyone have any suggestions for an *inexpensive* fix for this problem? THANK YOU!

Depending on the age of the home, there is a good possibility that the garage ceiling is not insulated.
I have a similar situation where as my garage ceiling is dry walled but not insulated.
If this is the case, it would be worth your while to remove the existing ceiling, insulate and recover with wallboard.
Hope this was helpful
