To one side of a yard, holes were dug and short mounds created in the process of removing the raspberry plants. The resulting ground digging was left as is.

On top of one of these low mounds the gardeners planted a podacarpus. The tree eventually died and need to know if planting the tree on this mound was the cause of its death.
