My house is 5 years old. I have had occasional leaks in 2 or 3 of my windows. The windows were replaced, but still leak. Now my bedroom windows, 4 of them are leaking, and the rain appears to be pooring from the window sill!
Any suggestions? My neighbor has the same problem with window over foyer.

- Rotting Sills with MW windows
my wife and i built our house 4 years ago and we have mw windows and doors thru-out and we have been very satisfied with mw windows!
We live in Columbia, SC and have a house that is approximately 14 years old. We purchased the house about 4 years ago, and because of plantation shutters did not notice the rotting MW windows. With the exception of windows on porches that get no rain exposure, virtually all the windows are showing some degree of rotting wood. Unfortunately they are out of warranty, and even if they were, I would not replace them with MW windows.
I bought a log cabin home (shell) 4 years ago and am finally moving in. The Mw Windows were already in and I always thought that they looked cheap. well there is not ONE window in the entire house that doesn't leak. The huge dbl pane windows in the front all leak and the seal has broken on most. The water seems to come in the bottom corner of the windows where the glass meets the wood. This is very depressing. Do we have any recourse? The house has been a true money pit. The windows are all wood dbl hung.
Just prior to winter, I went around all my deck windows to see they were
all closed well and couldn't believe
when I found most all of my MW casement windows installed in '96 were
rotting badly though the paint did not
show signs of this problem. I am at
a loss as to how to approach this as
I was not aware of problems such as I
have until researching how they may be
repaired and found all these problems
on this web-site. I am very surprised
and hope to get help on this issue. I do know that all are Marvin Windows & wonder if that is the same as those all referred to as MW. Thank You

Don't know if MW stands for Marvin but probably are. I too was sick to see all the postings on rotting windows because mine are headed in that same direction. I called the company and now have a Claim#. Someone was going to come out to "repair" them this Thursday but I had to cancel because I have a commitment. They are going to call to set up an inspection. I am not holding out too much hope after what I have read on this site.
Unfortunately the only solution is to put in replacement windows. The windows leak we had them professionally tested. They leak in the corners behind the walls.
Welcome,
Just curious how you came upon this site. I "googled," leaking windows, and came upon this site.
If you are a "satisfied" customer, what are you doing on this site, and how in the heck, did you find US!!!???
