I've got a double casement, MW window. One of the frames of the window is completely rotted at the bottom. It's 6 yrs old. I've got MW side windows on each side of the front door, again 6 yrs old, where the side seals have sucked into the windows.

I noticed a post that said there are few problems. Probably posted by Marvin. I am having my 12 yr old windows replaced. All but the one that is an Anderson.

I own a carpet cleaning business and have noticed houses (built in the mid '90's)with Marvin Windows that are in the same condition. We are not alone.

Marvin paid on a class action suit in the mid '80s. I think its time they paid another.

Hi kimike, please excuse the abbreviation. That was a pretty quick response. Less than a minute. You don't happen to work in Warroad. lol

No, I've had the same probelms as everyone else.....I've replaced complete original casements that were 16 years old and sills in an addition that were 6 years old. The originals I bought from MW at a very ggod discount and the newre were repalced at no charge, I did the installation myself. I f I could afford it I would replace every one of my windows with another brand. Here is the email address for Cale David, the warranty person at MW. He'll need pictures of your damaghed windows. CDavid@mwwindows.com Good Luck

Good luck with sending photos to CDavid@mwwindows.com .... We sent pictures and from the photos alone he tried to place all blame on the builder. How on earth can one possibly do that without measurements, squaring, etc.... We got absolutley no help from MW and we just recently (2009), replaced all the MW windows in our home ... our home is now 14 years old but, we had problems with the MW windows from the very 1st year in our home and issues were NEVER resolved.

i am in the same situation as you. i have about 28 windows that need replacing, yuk. In any event, they are trying to give me replacement sashs to go in the original frames. The new sashs are made differantly, hardware in differant places etc. Did you have that issue as well or did you get new frames with your replacement sashs when you installed them yourself.

thanks

Our builder used these for new home in SC. They are the Classic brand double hung window. They have a design defect. They leak water onto the wood seal. I am sure thousands of homes have these defective windows.

Our home has brick veneer but these poor windows don't use brick molding. Walk away from buying home that uses windows without brick molding. If the home uses MW windows walk away. Don't trust the realtor when they say there is a warranty. Its not worth the paper it is printed on.
