in my bathroom when we turn on the shower and run the water I can here a banging sound in the wall over the toilet and it happens for a long period of time when the shower is running and gets less frequent when the shower is turned off. What do think is the sound?

City water or well?
First thing I would check is the water pressure.
Anyone been doing any plumbing work?

Normally if you hear a banging sound when you first turn on a shower during the winter months its louder it is the coefficient of expansion of piping per degree per foot.

Unless the installing plumber installed a four fitting swing to allow for this expansion and contraction you will hear these noises

I'm also hearing one bang when I turn on a faucet or flush. I had the city test the pressure at my home and it was fine. Had a plumber come out, he also tested the pressure and it was fine, and we couldn't duplicate the problem. Water heater is one month old, but since it happens when i flush, i dont think that Is causing anything. Hadn't heard it for a few days, but started back up again today. Any theories? Thank you
