About 4rs ago we had a tub removed and a shower installed in the same place. The guy who did this rerouted the drain from the end where the tub drain was into the middle of the shower. For a while it was fine, but now we get a very strong sulphur odor after about 5 minutes of water running. The odor seems to be strongest when the weather warms up. This doesn't happen in any other bathroom. Have tried many different odor remedies, and chemicals that say they will work. Any suggestions on what this might be?

Check if you have a P-trap installed. it seems like sewer gas is coming up your drain, thus the strong smell.

Was the job filed and inspected?

The problem maybe the "plumber" may have used the existing waste which is one commercial size smaller and after a period of time the drain line become partially clogged because of improper scouring action

A tub was is 11/2 " diameter a shower should be 2" and then the venting also has to be relocated and ideally placed with in 2 feet of the new trap
