In November 2003, we had Gilkey brand slider windows installed in our home.
These windows tilt in for easy cleaning.
Anytime it rains or snows, water leaks on to the frame from in between the sashes.
Gilkey has sent technicians to check the leaks at least 13 times. The techs have caulked, drilled additional drain holes, and cleand the tracks.
The windows still leak.
Gilkey refuses to resolve the leaks and advised that it is common for all slider windows to hold some amount of water in the tracks.
I think that the amount of water that accumulates on the frame is excessive. I feel that the windows are either defective or were not installed properly.
I filed a claim with the Better Business Bureau but the claim was closed as "unresolved".
I feel that my only alternative is to take Gilkey to court to get our money refunded.
Any suggestions on how to proceed ?
I am also looking for a reputable source where I can get information on slider windows accumulating water in the tracks.
