I had a new roof put on in 2010. 15 years ago I had installed gutters and gutter helmet. When the new roof was put on, the roofing was nailed to the gutter helmet, hence making my warranty with gutter helmet void. I have had both the roofing company(I need 3 rows of shingles replaced) and gutter helmet out to view the problem. The roofing company told me it was not wrong to nail the shingles to the gutter helmet. Gutter helmet said gutter will not work as it should due to the shinkels being nailed over the gutter helmet. I am frustrated and really don' t feel I can believe either company. Although I tend to believe gutter helmet over the roofing company. As I explained the gutter helmet issue to the roofin company, the person said they did nothing wrong and they would replace the shinkels free of charge, even though another roofing company caused the damage when that company used hammers to remove ice and ice jams from my roof . What do you think. It really is difficult to get an honest answer. Please help me if you have any advice. Thank you. Respectfully, Pat

Pat, my grandfather was a roofer, My uncles was a roofer, my father also owned his own roofing company and I did roofing before I found a better way to make a living

The only thing I would suggest is make sure the contractors are licensed and insured and ask for a warrantee

This is a common issue with gutter helmet you should have used snaplock and leaflock. Their product never places a nail or screw in the roof and their gutter system never lets water behind the gutter. It also free floats stopping issues with expansion and contraction. www.noholegutters.com or www.loveyourgutters.com is their site.
