Hi Everyone,

Does anyone have soundproof windows at home? any information(which company's product/contractor etc..) / tips?

Not just the regular dual pane windows, but more than that.

I found this on the web http://soundproofwindows.com Any experience with these guys' product ?

Any experience with "Milgard's Quiet Line" ?

Thanks a lot for help.

JLC, a construction magazine has an article on a company that does sound proofing for homes near airports. About 2-4 years ago.

IIRC then mentioned windows and some of the details.

you can buy the article online for $3-4.

www.jlconline.com

Then Research.

Then search for the article.

There are quite a few companies that have "soundproof" windows. You just need to find one that has laminate glass available in their IG units such as is used for hurricane protection.

Laminate glass as part of an IG will do a much better job than double or even triple pane windows with gas.

Schuco, Simonton, and Gorell are 3 vinyl windows that come to my mind immediatley that have this type glass as an option.

Another less expensive option for those of you with good existing windows would be to buy a laminated glass storm window to put over the existing windows. This option actually works very well.
