i recently installed a new front door everything is level, but i have a small gap at the bottom of the door allowing light through. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Lots of cures for that problem.
Oak threshold with a close cell foam between the door and the threshold.
Close the door and put the threshold tight against the door and fasten down, also apply a butyl caulk between the new threshold and the old.
After marked gaskets for this can be found a home building center.
