I have vinyl tiles in the bathroom. Also the A/C is in the closet of same. It leaked and caused the tiles to loosen and when my disabled husband rolls over then with his wheel chair, the tiles break. I don't know what to replace these tiles with..that if this accident occurs again what could with stand this abuse . I assume that the sub floor got wet also and caused this problem. Do I replace sub floor also. This is a very old house in Katrina country... so rising water is an issue also. Help

Thanks for stopping by
You say the tile are breaking. They must be very old and brittle.

If the sub-floor is damaged it should be replaced.
A few flooring options would be i piece vinyl or ceramic tile.

If you do ceramic, the sub-floor needs to be a total of 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 thick. On top of that you would need to install a concrete backer board embedded in thin-set and screwed down according to manufacturers recommendations.
Hope this helps
