I have an antique dresser. It has an oak veneer on it and the wood is turning white. I have oiled it and when it dries out the white cloudiness returns, also have used a wood wax.
Is this from sun damage? And what can I do to get the wood grain back?

Sounds like heat damage. You'll need a little abrasiveness to remove it. You'll need the finest steel wool you can find (4-0 steel wool is best)and the finishing oil you were using earlier. Pour the oil on the mark, then gently rub the steel wool over the stain. Take a rag and wipe off the oil periodically to see how much of the stain has been removed. Once the white mark is completely gone, it's a good idea to oil the entire surface to help protect it against future damage.
