I have a Queen Palm which has been sitting in it's box (24"?) for about 2 years. I'm ready to plant it now. It's roots have grown throught the box and into the ground below. When I move it can I chop off the bottom roots to make a nice smoothe bottom surface? This would make it easier to dig the hole at a nice uniform depth. Or would cutting the roots harm the tree?

THANKS!
