We recently purchased a home & started doing renovations. I am replacing a half bath door w/ a prehung door. We realized all of the int. doors have had the bottoms cut due to an odd height of the headers.

If I remove the header, the door fits. The one Im doing 1st is not a load bearing wall.

Question: are headers a necessity for interior doors?
