We are considering major renovations to our split entry home vs a for sale sign. the major plus is agreat family neighborhood on a flat dead end street with conservation land behind us. Most people have told us it is not "do-able" with a split - won't look right. We would like to add another garage stall, a bath, expand the kitchen add or redesign the bedroom and living room areas.

Any advice - has anyone added on to a split successfully.
