I would like to know why I can not get a tool
warantied that has a lifetimewaranty, satisfaction guaranty. Does lifetime not mean
lifetime, and does satisfaction guaranty not
mean satisfaction guaranty.

I think I may be buying the wrong brand of tools!!

I went to my sears store to have a torque wrench warantied, where I was told that the
part of the torque wrench that was broke
was not covered. There went my satisfaction
guaranty right out the window.

Is the torque wrench labeled "Craftsman" or just "Sears"? If it's Craftsman they should honor the lifetime guarentee, however Sears does sell hand tools under their own "Sears" brand name which do not carry the lifetime guarentee like the Craftsman brand. If it is truly a Craftsman hand tool and they won't replace it, you might lodge a complaint at their web site "www.sears.com".

Most tools are guaranteed by sears, but torque wrenches have parts in them that are not covered because they have a tendency to wear out, such as the click mechanisms. Torque wrenches also lose their accuracy over use, so that's another reason why they are not always guaranteed.

I don't agree with Marcus.
If thats the case then ratchets are not covered either huh? cause: clicking mechanism, tendency to wear out.
there would be alot of tools that are not covered under trhe tendency to wear out act.
get real, guaranteed forever means what it says, and unlimited lifetime warranty also means what it says. what it really is. Craftsman is a business and the main objective in business is to acheive.
Business's rate their success by how bad they screw their customers.
Craftsman is getting really successful.
As a customer you have to complain about this type of action.
E-mail: Bob personally.
E-mail: webmaster@sears.com
Talk to the main manager at this Sears store and if all else fails go to another Sears and they will most likely exchange it.
E-mail me if you want more help on it.
