I have a 1/2 hp Craftsman Garage Opener less
than a year old. Sometimes during the day
the door will stop when going down. The
hood light on the unit will flash 10 times.
I have checked sensor connections, alignment,
obstructions, door binding, down force, etc.,
with not luck. There is a green light on
the back of the ceiling mounted base unit
that flashes 4 times every minute or so. What does this mean? Are these error codes
published somewhere? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

I think that if the door is less than a year old, you should be able to get help from your local craftsman/Sears dealer. I would think that the flashing light meaning should be in tha manual. The door should still be under warranty from the installer.

I had a similar problem with mine. It dissapeared after the cold & snow did. Unplugging the unit for a few mins. also seemed to set it straight.

My craftsman opener is far more sensitive in cold weather also. I've found that once every winter I have to tighten up all bolts and nuts, and thouroughly lubricate the chain and bar, as well as the garage door rollers and hinges. That seems to last for awhile.
Unplug it while doing this. That may be helpful in reseting the electronics as well.
