Seeking suggestions for a centralized vacuum system (we have allergies) remodel on a 1960's ranch-style home.

Is routing the system through the attic to minimize the invasiveness to the structure a rational plan?

Who are some of the top producers of components?

Have you looked into one of those bacteria/microbe killing UV lights on the furnace (or air handler)? I've heard they do a world of good for some people's allergies.

Usually the pipes will be routed thru the cold air returns to install a central vac in an existing house.

We had a BEAM installed when our house was built 8 years ago. Its a good brand.
