We have a cocker spaniel that is a house pet. Since we are at work during the week for long hours, we are considering installing a pet door. We've found numerous pet doors that can be installed in a door or wall but would like to purchase a door that comes with a pet door installed. Does anyone know of a company that makes an exterior door with a pet door? We would appreciate any information on this.

Because of the variation in door sizes, you'll probably not find what you are looking for in the type and size you need.

I saw some doors with pet doors already installed in them at Home Depot. I also saw a pet door installed in a glass patio door at a home I was visiting. Thought that was interesting.

First let me say that we LOVE our doggy door! We have 2 beagles who constantly come and go and its wonderful to not get uop at 4am to let them out!

I saw a sliding glass door panel that you just insert and then your door locks into it. It was really interesting to me and I thought that it would be perfect for people who are not looking to permenantly put a hole in their door or wall.

Here is the web address:

Good Luck!

If you go to a home improvement store such as a Home Depot or ***** (some type of large "big box" store) they can order these for you from there manufacturer. For instance I worked at a company in New York who manufactured Pease brand Exterior door units for Home Depot and ***** . Those companies could special order the unit or just the door slab with a doggy door installed. The "add-on" cost was minimal for such a request. And generally speaking it only took a standard run time of a week to create form time of order.

Hope it helps.
