This has been a wet summer in Fla. with it raining every day. I have a friend who has a screen porch on the back right corner of her house. When it rains, this screen porch becomes flooded with inches of water for a few hours. Her dogs can't even use it as a dog house and they end up standing in water. She is hoping to sell the house soon so she doesn't want to spend a lot of money on the project. Is there an inexpensive way to block the rain from coming through the two sides of screening and keeping the porch dry? An awning would probably be too expensive, but it would be nice if one could take down whatever is used after the rainy season.

Thanks.

My first thought is that water should be running off, not standing. I'm guessing that she'd be better off doing some landscaping rather than blocking the rain.

If blocking the rain is the only answer, and an awning is too expensive, the next option might be a sheet of plastic.
