I just purchased land in Kentucky, low and behold it failed the perk test. This is the first land sale I have ever done. My double wide trailer will be put on the land in less than 1 week. What other enexpensive alternatives can I look at?

In no particular order.
1.Holding tank that needs to be pumped when full.
2.Waterloo boifilter. http://www.waterloo-biofilter.com/

3.Bring in enough sandy loam to meet the perk test.

You need to meet with your county Environmental Dept. and discuss your options. Now is not the time to be finding out your perc failed. It should have been a contingency in the offer when buying the property and/or done way back when you ordered the house.

There are numerous systems out available, but they only get more expensive than the standard laterals. Wetland, sand filter, mound, mechanical filtration.

The price can go from $3000 to $12,000 real fast!!!!

Good luck.
