We are building our own kitchen cabinets, and are now working on eight lazy susans. We've cut circles out of three quarter plywood, and tried gluing a wooden edging around the circumference that would extend above the top surface to prevent items from sliding off. The wood is too time consuming and difficult to use. We don't really care what these things look like - just want a lip to keep things from spinning off. Does anyone have an inexpensive and fast solution?

try a 1 1/2 strip of luan. It's thin & flexable enough to rap around the plywood discs. It should give a good finish to your project. It comes in 4x8 sheets, but you may be able to find some scraps at a lumber yard.
