I'm doing a bathroom remodel. We've put up greenboard on the walls and cieling, however the tub/shower stall has ceramic tiles on a 'float' system.

What I'm wondering is do I need to 'prime' the greenboard before texturing? I have a texture gun and am not sure if I should put a thin layer of compound down then texture over, or if I need to prime with a primer such as Kilz then texture?

If I do need to prime what with? I've heard both use and don't use latext primers. HELP!!

You might try some searches over in the paint forum--as I believe this has been covered before. If you can't find anything, try posting over there....good luck.

You can prime green board with an acrylic or oil based primer and either one will stick.
