How can I support the concrete block wall,which is the front load bearing wall of the house. I will be installing a steel beam to support the wall...the purpose is to enclose the front porch and make the front porch ceiling height the same as the living room ceiling height. I realize I will need to remove the existing porch roof in order to install the beam...then I will frame out a new porch roof approx 16 inches higher than the old one was.
