What procedure is done to the rubber baseboard moulding when fitting around a 90 degree corner angle? They no longer make the corner pieces and I threw out the old ones!!

Just an idea....You might try using a coping saw to match the baseboard trim's profile. (This is commonly done with wood trim as well.) When you're done, the cut piece fits right up against the uncut in the corner. If there's a small gap, it can be caulked with similar-colored caulk.

Thanks K2 for getting back to me re. rubber baseboard. Talked to a person today who has put some down and he claims that lightly scoring the back of the moulding with a utility knife and then heating the moulding with a hair dryer during application gives a pretty tight fit. Think I will practice a couple of fits before I do the job. Thanks again. david

Hi David, definitely makes sense--scoring the rubber (vs. coping). same idea applies (following profile rather than trying to do 90 degree miter cuts). thanks for your reply, and good luck!
