remodeling small bathroom and thought a recessed medicine cabinet would look nicer, but now slightly worried about weight bearing walls. Could a small wall be weight bearing? Bathroom located in center of 1960 house on raised foundation portion.

Hi LadyT,
Yes, it could be weight bearing! May be a column. The raised foundation portion might be a footing. In the attic, see if joists overlap the area, or if roof trusses bear down on the area. Even if not, this does not guarantee that it ISN'T bearing. Hire a pro!
This is probably not the type of question you want to rely on the internet. Please proceed with caution. Hire a pro! A few hundred bucks for a structural engineer is well worth the cost here!....good luck!
