we have had a corian counter for close to ten years in the kitchen. one or two spots have worn down, either thruough scrubbing, putting something hot on it or just wear. the worn patches are sticky to the touch. is there a way to reseal it? bring back the shine/surface like new?

It can be restored to look like new, but you need a random orbit sander hooked up to a vacuum to do it. Start with 220 grit sandpaper, then 280, then 400 followed by a red Scotch Brite pad. For each grit go over the entire top both horizontal & vertical overlapping 50% each pass.
