What is the minimum amount of space I should allow for a closet (small walk-in hopefully)? I am redesigning an area of my home which now includes a tiny front bathroom, regular closet (not walk-in)in bedroom ajacent to front bath, and another small bath off of the bedroom. I want to dedicate the current closet space to the front bathroom and leave enough of the master bath space for a walk-in to replace the other closet, but would also like to use some of that space in the front bathroom as well. Sounds confusing I know, lol.
Try picturing a rectangle 13' x 8' with a bedroom adjacent to it along the long side. at the top there is a closet for the bedroom about 8 ft long and 2 ft. deep, on the left side there is a 1/2 bath attached to the bedroom taking the remaining 5ft of the rectangle length and coming all the way to the bottom of the rectangle (approx. 8 ft.) The remaining little square (5'x7') is my main front (full) bathroom for guests! My main priority is enlarging this front bathroom. The closet will be shared by two young girls (6 and 4 yrs old currently). My plan is to knock out the wall between the front bath and closet and use that space, then convert the 1/2 bath to a closet which hopefully would still be able to contribute more space to the front bath. But I don't know what a realistic amount of closet space is, so that's what I'm here to ask! Sorry for the long message...thank you.
