I am living in the first home I've ever owned, and it happens to be a log home. I've never done any home repair before (I'm a woman - I wasn't raised to do this stuff), but I seem to be catching on well. My problem is that there is so little out there, in the way of how-to books or magazines, that addresses log home work. There is a lot on building a log home, but I'm more interested in figuring out how to install a bay window or add a light switch in an outside wall (stack of logs). Nothing seems to work the way it does in every other home. Is my only tool option really just a chain saw? Does anyone have any suggestions for resources?
