I am thinking about adding a new attic access door in my garage. I have so much space above the garage that is inaccessable from the existing attic door located inside the house.

What I would like to do is not only add the attic access door but make a sort of attic "dumb waiter" along with it. Has anyone here ever attempted anything like this? Could anyone give me some pointers for such a job?
