I'm about to make an offer on a house. The only thing it's missing that's on my wish list is a washer and dryer. It doesn't even have connections for them. Does anyone know, very roughly, what it would cost to have the connections installed, or does anyone have any suggestions on how best to add a washer a dryer? The house is brick.

Thanks...

Its not hard to put in the hook ups your self exspecially if the pipping in your house is plactic alls you have to do is run off the hot and cold under your house to were you want to put in the washer then drill a couple of holes and bring them threw its not much harder than that. And as for the dryer just put a vent in the wall somewere going outside and make sure you have the proper plug in for both the washer and dryer.

If you are going to attempt it yourself, the following link has some tips that might be helpful. If hiring someone else to do it, hopefully they will be aware of them but at least will guide you for what to look for in their job.

Time and Money Saving Appliance Installation Tips

Sorry, can't help with the costs involved. You may need both an electrician and plumber (or one licensed for both) if absolutely no facilities are in place yet.

If there is a wash tub, you could put the washer next to it and attach the hose to the faucet and hook the drain onto the tub. I did that in a house I had in Chicago that didnt have hook ups. the Dryer on the other hand, if you dont have gas or electric run to that location, you need to consider having it done if you dont know how to do it,
