refrigerator door panel eroding

the lower left panel, under the ice and water dispensor, on my refrigerator is eroding. the unit is otherwise is excellent condition. Any suggestions of camoflauging this area? I would enjoy any look that fits into traditional decor thanks

refrigerator is by Kitchenaid Superba and the model number is Ksrs27qawho5. Serial number scoa18355. type 27ssa93. manufactor date 2/1993. thanks for any help.
