Hi all,

I had a new model washer installed today. The booklet says the machine should(?) be grounded. But the technician who installed the machine said that the manner in which appliances are being designed these days do not need a ground wire. Who should I believe? I'm leery of using the damn thing.

Does the owner's manual illustrate how the appliance should be grounded? From what I understand, as long as the outlet into which the appliance is plugged into is properly grounded, than the appliance is grounded. Just for your own benefit,I would suggest contacting the applicance's customer service department to clarify.
