I am designing a long "drop leaf" style countertop, about 18" wide, which runs horizontally, about 100", on one wall of my garage. This will enable me to drop down the countertop when I am not using it to save space. I envision using heavyduty hinges with one side affixed to a wooden stud along that wall. My question is what kind of countertop material should I use and how will I prop up the countertop when in use?
