I'd look to run the vent pipe between the floor joists of the floor above or the floor below. If you're dealing with a first floor location, the joists above will eventually be enclosed by ceiling, etc., so your vent line might want to be aluminum (not hose) and as short as can be for cleaning. Dryer vent lines will suffer from dryer lint build-up, no matter how good the filter. And make the run as straight as possible in case you need to snake it from either end at some point. The joists below would be exposed in the basement and allow easier maintenance. Going down instead of up will mean exiting the house just above grade, so account for that, and cutting a hole in the perimeter joists. But that also means having the hood more out of sight.

JMO but since you're still in the design stage, how about putting the laundry room close to an exterior wall?

BTW. Make sure you design for extra strong flooring in that area as washers need a very stable flooring or else damage to the washer's internal suspension can occur.
