I am moving a dryer in my home. I wanted to know if you can extend the wire from the existing wire or have to wire a new wire to the electric panel.

I don't know what the electrical code would be for that, probably best to post in the electrical forum?

I would think adding an extension wire to the original might be allowable if done so using a regulation junction box (depending on the overall length). Just joining the extension with wire nuts would not likely be appropriate (or necessarily safe).
