We've had Kenmores over a 20 yr period (I think made by Whirlpool but not sure?), which we've never had trouble with. We used one for 10 yrs and gave it away; it still worked perfectly. One or two, we've left with houses we sold.

One thing to keep in mind--as these things DO last a LONG time (hopefully!)...remember that your life may change substantially over the appliance's lifetime! You may be single, but who knows, 5 or 10 years out? So bottom line: DON'T BUY ANYTHING WITH SMALL CAPACITY. Besides, you may want to wash bedspreads, etc, that need the room.

Enjoy your new home!
