** A gear in the tranny snapped. Any idead where I could get the gear from? **

The gears look to be available although may not be a stocked item depending on which one you want. You can see a breakdown of the transmission and its individual components at the following link:

Yes Dan O. it is the connecting rod on that page. Besides the rod and tub seal what else would you recomend replacing while I'm attempting to reassemble. Also any idea on how much and what type of tranny fluid it holds. Boy I'll have some happy campers if I am able to pull this off. Lets just say there are naysayers in the household. ha ha

The belt and idler pulley are frequent items to fail especially if either show signs of wear. I can't think of anything else if not broken or worn already. Maybe inspect the 'snubber' ring between the transmission support and washer base. They tend to wear, especially when used on unstable flooring like an upstairs laundry room.

I have no idea how much but 1 quart is listed on that parts breakdown. I don't know what weight it is either but can tell you it is non-detergent (which is very important).

Well Dan O. still no aggiatation from washer. I got the parts but I am stuck. The broken connecting rod in the tranny is giving me a headache. Looking only at that picture off of that website. I'm able to reassemble (bolts in)tranny case. But when I go to check to see if it is together right (spining the shaft with vice grips) It will again turn only one way and for that matter just turn once. note even when I have most of the gears out the shaft will only turn one way.Seems like 24 just runs that short distance on the 10 part right? The only gears I messed with is 10,11,and 12. Any idea what I'm doing wrong? They way the pic looks I just drop 10 right down on 11 and line up 24. THANX AGAIN

I found out what the problem was. Somehow the alignment shaft from the bottm of the tranny case had worked itself too far inside. Causing connecting rod to rub against it. I think this was my initial cause for the part to break right where it was rubbing. How that shaft worked its way inside I have no clue. Tranny works fine clockwise as you spin it you can see how the agitatin works. I've learn alot. Hopefully putting it all back together won't be such a learning experience. ha ha

Hey Dan O. believe it or not I finally am doing laundry. I couldn't have done it without you! Oh I had nay sayers (my wife and kids) one thing I learned in the Marines "Adapt and Overcome". There are a few bugs I have to work out yet. Might have replaced the tub springs on wrong settings. Causing a whole lot of shaking. Thanx again Dan O. total repair cost under $40 Semper Fi
